Notes on the Vassal Module for Schutztruppe The module is based on the Flying Buffalo. The published map is monochrome (dark green on white), but I have colorized it to clarify terrain features. The turn record, reinforcement schedule, and victory point chart are all on the "Tracks" window. The terrain effects chart and combat table are on "Charts & Tables". Upsupplied status is flagged by an orange supply symbol on each counter, which can be toggled on and off by pressing Ctrl-U. The module uses masking to implement the optional hidden German movement rule, and there special counter for Dummies. Press Ctrl-M to mask a unit and Ctrl-M again to unmask it. In lieu of the chits used in the published game to determine command control, the module provides a ten-sided die. There is an Allied Control marker to keep track of town ownership. It resides on a layer underneath all units and does not stack. The scenario setup has all pieces on the Order of Battle of the Tracks window. There are two Allied battalions in the counter mix that do not appear on the OB. The dead piles are in the Indian Ocean. I have included blank markers in a variety of colors for you to use as you please. Blanks float above units and do not snap to hexes. UNIT COMMAND MENU * Mask (Ctrl-M) - Mask or unmask the unit. Only the German player has access to this command. * Send to Dead Pile (Ctrl-S) - Send the unit to the appropriate dead pile. * Delete (Ctrl-X) - Delete the unit. * Unsupplied (Ctrl-U) - Toggle a symbol to indicate unsupplied status. * Movement Trail (Ctrl-T) - Remove the movement trail.
