Gettysburg 150

Gettysburg 150 is a board game depicting battles of the Battle of Gettysburg published and copyrighted by Worthington Games in 2013.  This module is intended for the use of those who own a copy of the game and wish to play with opponents via the internet.

How to Play

When the module is opened, you can find all the saved games in the module by looking for the menu under “Files > Scenarios”.

Once you’ve opened a game and chosen a side to play, you can review the victory conditions by clicking the “Notes” button and viewing the notes for that scenario.

The top of the board shows the day, hour, and Action Point Track along with quick reference combat and terrain charts as well as the victory point totals for each side.

To begin your turn, you would click the 1d6 button for your additional action points.  You add the result to your side’s Command APs, noted on the Action Point track by a small flag, and drag the AP marker to the total.

You spend your APs by moving and attacking with units on the board.  You can indicate fire attacks from close combat attacks, as well as retreated units and spent units by right-clicking on the unit, selecting "place marker" and then selecting the appropriate marker.  You can keep track of spent APs by moving the AP marker down the track, or by right-clicking on it and selecting the "spend AP" option.

Once your APs are all spent, you end your turn by clicking the “End” button on the control panel.  This does several things at once:  removes movement trails and highlights, clears any combat markers on the board, clears any dice images from the side board, advances the day and/or hour tracker, and flips the AP marker to the other player’s side, and moves it to his/her base AP value.

When an infantry, artillery, or cavalry unit is eliminated, right click on the unit and select, "Kill unit - send to dead pool."  The VP for the other side is automatically updated.  Note: cavalry are worth 1/2 VP, but they are rounded up.  When a 2nd cavalry is eliminated, the VP is ignored.  To view eliminated units, go to the menu bar and select "Dead Pool."

If a leader is lost during a game, right-click on the leader and select the "Leader dies" option.  This will flip the leader over to his replacement side and update the victory points.  If you click it again.  Do not select this option for a replacement leader, as they represent any generic leader and may not be killed.  Furthermore, when a primary leader dies, the Command AP marker on the AP Track can be moved down to reflect the loss of a Command AP.  Just hold down the shift key while clicking on the flag to select and move it.  The piece is actually square and transparent, so if both flags are on the same number, you may have to move one to reach the other.

Certain hexes have a VP marker on them.  They indicate the side that controls it: CSA, USA, or neither, which is 2-toned.  When a side takes control, right-click and select the side that controls it.  The marker switches to that side and the victory points are automatically updated.

If you make an error, the best course of action is to select the "undo" button, which is the first button on the menu bar.  If you need to adjust the victory points, each side has a "+" and "-" button beneath it.  Clicking the button will adjust that side's total.

The "Charts" button on the menu bar contains the random events chart, the combat results table, the terrain effects chart, and the available actions.  While some are printed on the board, this option is available as well.

To bring in reinforcements, open the "OOB" (Order of Battle) button, and drag the units to the map to their entry hex.  If units are delayed due to a random event, open the OOB and adjust the units.
