Tigris and Euphrates

Setup

  1. When you start a new Tigris and Euphrates game, VASSAL will ask which board you wish to use. You do need to choose one.
  2. IMPORTANT! If you are logging this for a PBEM or PBF game, you need to start the vlog at this point.
  3. If you want to add in the Ziggurat and or extra buildings, press the appropriate buttons. These are to be found in the Tiles and Monuments window.
  4. You should also press the "Player Order" button and right click on the question mark piece to the right. Using the menu command there will select a player order.
  5. Then the players should be ready to draw their initial six tiles into their hand from the tile deck in Tiles and Monuments.
  6. Then you can start.

Private Hands

Each player has a private hand that only they can see. This should be used for storing their leaders, tiles and scoring cubes. It will automatically count your scores, which can be announced to other players using the button.

Scoring cubes

The private hand counts scoring cubes as they enter or leave. Scoring cubes include the four colours and treasure. When giving other scoring cubes to the rightful owners, you can select the cube and right-click it to send it to the correct player. If it is for you, you may simply drag it to your private window. New coloured cubes are created from the "scoring cubes" button. You cannot right-click them there, so you may need to first drag them to the main window. Treasure cubes that must be taken first have a halo around them, so long as they are in the main map.

Tiles

New tiles may be drawn from the "Tiles and Monuments" window. Ideally they should be drawn straight from the deck to your private hand. You can right-click the deck, to send 1-6 tiles straight to your private hand, where they will be sorted by colour. By right-clicking a tile you have a range of options that may be needed during the course of the game.

Conflicts

Tiles committed to a conflict can be sent to the Conflict window using the Ctrl-C command. When that phase of the war is resolved, all ties can be discarded using the the button the Conflicts window.

Summary of Commands

The following key commands are supported. There is no need to memorize them as you can always try right-clicking on them piece to see what is available. Not all commands are supported in all contexts. For example Ctrl-H is disabled and hidden in the main map.

Command Tile Scoring Cube Leader Building Unification Tile
