You can start by loading initgame.vsav or by placing the pieces.
You can play regular chess if you like. There is no rules enforcement. You will have to keep each other honest.
To play Chess War Level 1, play chess as normal but whenever a piece goes to take another piece, the attacking player should roll the Attack Dice and the defending player should toll the Defend Dice. Remove the piece of the player with the lower dice score.
