This module is in open beta. Thus not all functions are as streamlined as they could be and any ideas and help for improvement are more than welcome (contact me at juuso.h.marttila@jyu.fi). Module is still fully playable.
Hope you enjoy!
Tips:First, setup game by using button on main map. This function automatically draws correct number of techs to supply board, removes extra III-ring hexes and marks starting hex locations. Once selected, these choices can be reversed only by starting a new game. If wanting to check supernova hexes beforehand, please look them under Help and instructions- button (marked with question mark in the toolbar). After you have done setup, click “retire” –button and change your playing side to color of your choice.
If you wish to change a color you chose when joining the game, just click retire -button and choose the correct player/specie. You can also join as observer, but as such you cannot interact with most of the components (like hexes, reputation tiles etc.)
Starting hexes can be found on player boards. To change a player board to its alien side, use the button on player board –window’s toolbar
Hexes can be selected and moved by shift+click. After you have selected a hex, you can right-click it to pop up a dialogue where you can e.g. rotate the hex or easily place a discovery tile and an ancient on hex.
Other playing pieces can be interacted by drag-and-dropping or right clicking and using some shortcuts there.
Remember to remove extra colony ship from green player board if playing green player, but not Planta.
Play Sequence Board is meant as a way to mark playing order when you just cannot check who sits where. Playing order can be marked by just moving cubes to order which you want to get the players going. When passing, move your playing order cube to Pass square next to it. If you were first to pass, also move the purple cube next to your cube to remind you passed first.
Please use the “clock” –button to track phases and turns. Even though these can be done manually on Play Sequence and Supply Boards, any automation built into the module is triggered only by using “clock” –button. Automation includes flipping colony ships, resetting damage on ships and drawing new techs in cleanup phase.
Use the button with ship symbol to message easily other players for what ship you’re going to roll dice next. This is purely for information and easy logging purposes and by no means mandatory to use if you prefer to communicate your rolls by some other means.
To pick only one counter (e.g. tech tile) from a stack, you have to double-click the stack first. Then you can choose only one counter from the stack.
Discarded hexes can be shuffled back to draw piles by right-clicking discard stacks. This can also be done by drag & drop.
If automatic centering on other players actions feels awkward, it can be turned off from preferences.
Reputation tiles cannot be revealed manually. They are automatically revealed at the end of game turn 9 when tracking game turns by using “clock” –button.
To easily inspect hexes, use “hide/show pieces –button” in toolbar. It hides all other pieces except hexes.
At the moment scoring board is required to be filled manually. Just choose a field and press ENTER.
