Playing a Card
[E2] When you play a card, put it at the end of the left (west) or right (east) side of your tableau.
If the card has a bomb icon (a ,u>one-shot), choose to do the one-shot or not.
The chess pieces in the card's top left corner are called agents.
If you do the one-shot in an attack, then you must use the agents in the battle if appropriate.
If the agents cannot attack, then deploy them after the battle.
If you don't do the one-shot, then you may place the agents on appropriate map locations, which match your
played card's location.
-
Bishop. Place it on the played card or on any tableau card, including opponents,
with the same location, including empire cards. If the target card already has a bishop, then kill both
(diet of worms rule). If the card has repressed tokens, you may kill one.
You may not move a bishop on or across a Player card. If your played card is east or west,
then you may place it on any card that is in the (matching) east or west.
- Pirate. Put a pirate rook on a sea border of the matching map card. Kill anything there at no cost.
To change a rook into a pirate, right click on a rook and choose the pirate option.
- Rooks and Knights. Place it on any of the card's city icons. The icon's color and type are irrelevant. if the location is occupied, then pay 1 florin to displace (repress) it.
- Pawn (cube) Put it on any border of the map card. If it is occupied, but pay 1 florin to displace (repress) it. You may not displace a pirate.
