Vassal Module User Guide for Arkwright

 

In this module are 3 scenarios included: Spinning Jenny, Water Frame and Spinning Mule (additional scenario).


Main Menu Buttons


Retire: Retire from game or change side.

 

Player Boards: For each player color his own board.

 

Goods: Open a window with the piece for goods.

 

Bank: Open the Bank window. It shows the share values (holding by the bank) and credits of each player.

 

Turn End: All marker are removed from the main map and placed on the player boards.

 

Set Start Player: Select the new start player for next Round.

 

Start Game: Start the selected game. Settings for a 2, 3 or 4 player game will be made automatically. It depands on the activated players.

 

Hide Time-Marker: Hides all time-marker on the main map.

 

Hide all: Hides all pieces on the main map.

 

Map Zoom Buttons: I’ve set the default map zoom to 80% of normal. The player is able to set the zoom at whatever level they finds most comfortable.

 

Camera: Hitting this button lets the player take a screen shot of the current main map view and save it to a location of their choice.

 

 

Pieces


Some of the pieces I’ve built into the module have right click menus available. The options on these menus I believe are self explanatory so I won’t go into further detail.

 

 

Specially Designed Pieces

 

There are not many of these.

 

Shares, Credits and Money: This pieces on the player boards are designed to track the money, shares and credits of each player.

 

 

Starting the game

 

To start the game following is to do:

 

  1. Choose the Scenario which you will play.
  2. Choose the your player side.
  3. Go to your player board and press the Activate-Button. Some adjustments for the selected sceanrio will be made. Your side is now ready to play.
  4. After all players (min. 2) are activated, press in the menu "Start-Game". All further adjustments will be made and start player is choosen randomly.
  5. Now you are ready to play.
