---------------------------------------------------------------- Notes for learning to play 'Exile Sun' from the Vassal Module ---------------------------------------------------------------- Several things were adjusted in the Vassal module to compensate for the digital experience of playing Exile Sun. Please take note of the following things to help streamline your experience using Vassal to play. - Remember, Vassal is a Tabletop Emulator functioning as a digital surface, while it may streamline some features of game play it does not enforce rules or keep track of turns. Players must communicate with each other freely describing their actions and watching each other just like a regular board game. (The automatic notifications in the chat box may also assist with this.) - All players may see any item that is visible on the main map unless it is face down (In the case of cards, the owning player will see a small window showing the front of their face down card) - Reading the rules is HIGHLY recommended! It would be nearly impossible to learn how to play 'Exile Sun' on vassal without learning the board game first. - Only you can see the contents of your 'Hand'. - After placing a system and selecting something else, the only way to reselect the system is to hold down the 'alt' key. Of course systems should never be moved or rotated after the game has begun. - The only way to 'peek' at a fleet token (even your own) without showing it to all the other players is to move it into your 'Hand' and then flip it over. You must then flip it back over and place it back on the table. (you may choose to press 'Undo' twice to put the Fleet token back, but be careful not to unintentionally undo other moves) - The 'Control Cards' were adjusted to compensate for the digital game. Take careful note of the number in each column and dillegently reference which ship you intend to attack or defend.
