The 7th Continent – PnP demo

This is a very rough implementation of the PnP demo for the boardgame the 7th Continent, to be pubblished by Serious Pulp.

I chose to keep the cards at full resolution since there may be some hidden graphical hints in the game. Unfortunately, this made the module quite unwieldy.

How to:

First, make sure to know the rules of the game, in particular with regards as to how the Action deck behaves after its exaustion. You can find all the clarification you need on BGG: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/180263/7th-continent.

This Vassal module uses three main windows:

The Map window is where I suggest you keep your working map of the continent as well as any cards you need to sort. The cards and pieces will snap to the grid.

The Decks window contains the 4 decks used in the game. I didn't include a general discard, but you won't need it in the PnP as you can return all the cards you would discard without collateral effects.

Just click and drag from the Action and Event decks to draw cards. You may flip the Action Discard by the right click menu. These Decks shuffle automagically. (this means that you cannot stack the top of these decks, should you be in need to do so I suggest you just stack cards in the Map window and consider them to be the top of the Action Deck).

To draw from the Exploration deck you'll have to right click on it and choose what card you want to draw.

Finally, the Players' Stuff window is where you can keep your hand and items and statuses. You'll find all the characters' related stuff here when you begin the game, just mark everything you're not using as right-click/Unused and it will disappear.

You'll have to shuffle in your own character Action card into the Action deck before starting.

Whenever you would put a die on an item card (or change the value it shows), right click on the card and choose “Change Durability”.

You'll find an infinite supply of status cards in the drop down menu on the main toolbar.

I haven't tested this module for multiplayer, but I think it should work, with the main problem probably being lack of space in the Players' Stuff window.

I hope you have fun with this.
