Please see the "PBEM Guide" for instructions on playing by email. Kingmaker plays very well by email, but you need to carefully adhere to the order of play ("seating" order), and if you allow as much flexibility and allow each player to have a chance to respond to events, combats, etc, the game will play much like a face to face game. Playing a real time game online is much easier and I don't need to elaborate on how to do that.
All the pieces are in the Pieces Tray, Crown Cards are in the Crown Cards window, and Event Cards are on the main map on the upper right hand side. Advanced and variant cards and counters are in the Optional Cards and Pieces window. You can add those pieces and cards into the other decks for play as needed. Faction Markers and others are available in the Markers window. There are dice available on the toolbar and other functions. See the "PBEM Guide" for more detailed information on setup and play sequence.
There is a seperate help file for PBEM.
Enjoy .... :)
