Notes on the Vassal Module for GDW's Suez '73 This module supports all of the Suez '73 scenarios. Here are some notes on features that might not be obvious. Step losses are represented, not by separate number markers as in the original game, but by a change to the value displayed on the counter. Similarly, disruption is represented by asterisks overlaid on the counter itself. Since stacked units (other than the top one) cannot be examined by the opposing player, they can be masked. For details on masking, see http://www.vassalengine.org/wiki/Mask. The Egyptian and Israeli Unit Composition Charts can be opened via the buttons on the toolbar. They are not private; either player has access. If you want to keep the contents secret, use masking. Pre-defined scenario setups put the units in the approximate locations specified in the rules; setup information markers provide additional details. All losses stipulated by the scenario instructions have already been removed except for the Egyptian east bank forces in Scenario III. Losses have been divided as evenly as possible between the eligible units; if you prefer a different distribution, you will need to make the necessary adjustments. A "Sand" line has been added to the Terrain Movement Chart, as noted in the official errata. ************************************************************************************ UNIT COMMAND MENU * Movement Trail (Ctrl-T) - Remove the unit's movement trail. * Mask (Ctrl-M) - Mask the counter so that its identity and strength will not be known to the opposing player.
