(15.1) The Surprise Shift
- Basic Game: All German attacks on the 16AM turn receive a favorable shift
of one column to the right on the CRT.
- Optional rule 31 - Variable Surprise Shift:
- The surprise shift is only possible if a German mechanized is involved
possessing an ER of 5
- After the Allied player declares any supporting Artillery, the German
player rolls a 1d6.
- If the die roll is greater than the highest ER of the defending units,
surprise is achieved.
(15.2) With the following exceptions, all all US units have 2 MP on
the US 16AM turn (15.2)
- All US Artillery have a movement allowance of 1 MP/ (Exception: see 15.3)
- All units of the 2nd Division have a movement allowance of 3 MP (
- All units with start the game adjacent to German units have full movement
allowance:

(15.3) Allied Artillery Restrictions US 16AM
- US artillery may not fire offensive ground support.
- If a German unit advances adjacent to an Allied artillery unit, it is free
to move its full movement allowance.
(15.4) Bridge Demolition Restrictions
- No Allied unit may attempt to blow bridges on the 16AM and 16AM turns.
(15.5) German Movement Restrictions
- Units of the 1SS, 12SS, and Panzer Brigade 150 may not move during the 16AM
turn.
(15.6) Initial German Supply
- All German units are considered in supply for the first four game turns.
- No German unit may be places out of supply prior to 18AM.
(15.7) Traffic Jams (16AM)
- On the 16AM turn all German Mechanized units have their movement allowance
reduced by on1.
- No German mechanized unit may be placed in reserve.
- German mechanized units have there movement allowance reduced by one for
advance after combat.
- German mechanized unit advanced may not exceed farther than the number of
hexes called for by the CRT.
- German units may only attack only those Allied units facing their respective
army staging areas as defined by the
- set up locations on the Order of Appearance Cards.
