Saving a New Team

  1. Click the "Teams" button in the main menu.
  2. Use the zoom controls to size the window to your liking.
  3. Drag cards and dice to the 8 character spaces designated.
  4. Drag two basic actions to either the Player 1 or Player 2 spaces (regardless of which you choose here, when you go to load your team (see Loading a Saved Team below) you may have to drag your actions to the opposite side depending on which player slot you occupy in that particular game).
  5. Drag the yellow selection window around all of the cards and dice, making sure to unclick while still within the Teams window. Each card and die should have a yellow border if you've done this correctly.
  6. Go to the File menu, and select Begin Logfile...
  7. Choose a file name that matches your team, i.e. Tsarina and Friends, and click Save.
  8. Enter comments describing this log file if desired.
  9. Right-click on any selected card or die, and choose Clone.
  10. Go to the File menu, and select End Logfile...
  11. Exit Vassal, or exchange cards and dice as necessary to create another team and start with step 5 again to save a different team.

Loading a Saved Team

Note: Both players share the Teams window, so you may want to designate who is loading their team first to avoid confusion. The sharing of this window prevents players from having to create two copies of every team (one when playing as Player 1, the other when playing as Player 2)
  1. Click the "Teams" button in the main menu.
  2. Use the zoom controls to size the window to your liking.
  3. Go to the File menu, and select Load Continuation...
  4. Choose the .vlog file that matches the team you saved previously (see Saving a New Team above).
  5. Click the Play button in the main menu; your saved team should load with only one click. If you saved more actions than just a clone into the lock, you might have to click play multiple times.
  6. Depending on which player slot you occupy, you may need to move your Basic Action cards to the opposite side.
  7. Drag the yellow selection window around all of the cards and dice, making sure to unclick while still within the Teams window. Each card and die should have a yellow border if you've done this correctly.
  8. Drag your entire team from the Teams window over to the play window. You may have to experiement with where to "drop" your team on the play window, as it seems to be somewhat finicky with regard to location. Make sure you've made the play window small enough that all 10 cards will fit when dropped. After dropping them, move them to their proper location on the card slots.
