How to Use this Module

Several of the functions of the game have been automated in this module release. Please read the following instructions to make the most of these features.

Record Tracks

Advancing the Turn marker will automatically clean up all one turn event markers (i.e., Dictator, Foedus, Elephants, etc.).

Advancing the Round marker will reset the markers for Minor Power Activation.

To add a plunder marker to the Gaul plunder track simply click on an empty space on the track.

Marker movement on the VP track is not automated in any way and must be tracked manually.

Event Tracks

Many of the card events that trigger the placement of markers will place counters on the map automatically.

To mark the depletion of the Etruscan Mines click on the space on the event track.

In the case of Wild Beasts click on the corresponding space for the player you wish to mark the event for.

Card Play

Where the card brings reinforcements into play the counters will appear near the players home spaces on the map.

Play of Neutral Power Activates will disable play of the event for the activation of the same Minor Power until the Round Marker is advanced. The marker for the activated power will be moved to the Round Track as a reminder. Cards used to activate Carthage will automatically increase the unrest in the 5 player game.

Toolbar

Various buttons will allow access to the counter mix for each faction in the game. Accessing these can be avoided for the most part by using the "clone" command to create new CUs where needed. All new leader reinforcements are placed automatically on play of the appropriate card. Loyalty markers have commands to switch them to other factions and all Roman CUs have a command to place new city loyalty markers.

The next set of buttons will allow access to the card decks and the player hands. While the deck mat is accesible to everyone, player hands can only be viewed by the controlling player.

Several dice buttons are provided for rolling one, two, or three dice as needed. For those who prefer to "read" the dice icons, a second set of three dice is provided so that, if desired, players can roll combat results for the attacker and defender without having to reroll the same set.

Clicking the Elect Consuls button will automatically remove all Consuls currently on the map. Two random Consuls will then be selected and sent to Rome.

The "Show/Hide the Leaders and Combat Units" button will allow you to view the city loyaties without resorting to moving stacks.
