1. Where's the game? - As this was designed with Solitaire play being it's primary use, it is permanently setup for the map to open in a window (who needs to see the chat box in this case!?). So you'll have to open the map window after starting a game with the toolbar button or your F8 key.

2. Cat Skinning Lessons - Just as there is more than one way to skin a cat, there is more than one way to track a unit and it's capabilities. You can use the Record Pad to record statistics, as per the original game. Or you can use the built-in Inventory sheets. Or you can use the included additional counters to track equipment and Leaders. Or better yet, you can use the organic options via right click menus and/or keyboard commands...

3. Don't Let the Blues Get You Down - Note that x35 Leaders' counters have a blue outline (which you can just see in the above pic). As you know, lose that piece and you're no longer in command!

4. Count On It! - There are two ways provided for obtaining Unit counters. The standard segregated counter tray...

...and "flat" listings separated only by country, which are handy for grabbing enemy counters as the program reveals them...

...Note there is a difference in the standard counter tray's smoke marker and the country smoke markers' behavior. The standard counter tray smoke markers will behave like all counters, in that they will be stackable and conform to the map. The "dropped" (via right click menu) smoke counters will allow free movement and will always overlay unit counters. Also note the latter is the marker that is placed when using an elite squad's "Pop Smoke" command. Further note that the standard counter tray is the only one with the DYO Scenario Overlays (see #9 below).

5. How to Have a Movement! - Note that in the following right-click-menu movement commands, the last option for each command refers to the top-of-keyboard numbers with no associated CTRL or ALT keypresses...

6. Flaming Demo Charges Batman! - Just because it's not in the rulebook (although I've added reminder-asterisks to the Units listing), you should remember anyway that only Elite squads can use Flamethrowers and Demo Charges! (If you do forget, you could end up with a poorly designed DYO scenario that leaves you in a permanent programming loop! ...so stop and think about how to answer what range of support weapons you want, after you did something like specify few or no elite units!)

7. Welcome to the Machine - Note that there are two levels for flamethrowers and each machine gun display. The second level indicates a malfunction and will display in mouseover text surrounded by asterisks. Generally speaking, asterisks in the mouseover text and order of battle display are bad. *grin*

8. Shift Work - Also note that all key commands that cycle through options/displays can be reversed by adding the SHIFT key to the original key command. This is especially important to know if you accidentally register too many casualties, as the count will not cycle around/back to maximum.

9. It's Just a Silly Phase I'm Going Through... - I've also added some Markers for Phase Lines (aka: DYO Scenario Overlays). Which, after being placed, can be toggled like the other two preset scenario overlays.
