ADVANCED THIRD REICH by Dennis Jorgenson and Todd Dunnavant Vassal Game Engine by Rod Kinney Version 1.7.0.2 AWAW map release (9/02/07) Todd Dunnavant - corrected an error with the airborne unit counters -- the keystroke combo for "decreasing" the counter image was changed from Ctrl-Y to Ctrl-Z, to be compatible with all other counters in the game - edited the map image to adjust the heel of Italy, to be compatible with the AWAW map. The heel no longer extends from Hex AA25 into BB25. Impact -- naval units can move directly between Taranto and Brindisi - updated the Campaign, 1939, and 1940 scenarios to be compatible with the new modules. Other scenarios will be updated later. - added a toolbar button (with hotkey Alt-H) to hide/unhide all counters on the map - adjusted the mouse-over stack viewer so that it displays all counters on a hex, including national control indicators. Version 1.7.0.1 AWAW map release (6/21/07) Todd Dunnavant - added 1-3 images to airborne unit counters, for use with AWAW-style rules that reduce AB units to 1 combat factor. Version 1.7.0 AWAW map release (9/21/06) Todd Dunnavant - converted Liverpool to a port, in line with the A World at War map - changed the spelling of "Lyons" to "Lyon" - converted hex control markers to be non-stackable units. - regridded the A3R AWAW map so that the off-board boxes are not incorporated into the main map grid, and so that the grid hexes "know" about their hex designations. That is, Hex A19 "knows" that it is Hex A19. This knowledge is not used in this version, but it can be used with future module versions that include custom programming. - made the map 20% larger in each dimension. This has the effect of reducing the "tightness" of the units on a portion of the map where many contiguous hexes have units on them. Version 1.6.9 (6/17/06) Steven Cochran and Todd Dunnavant - added an activity tracker to the main toolbar menu. This aids in adding markers to game files that signify transition from one activity to another - added a "KIA" unit indicator to ground and air units, so that destroyed units can be marked in place (if desired) and left in place until a combat phase is completed - added a "lent" indicator to Italian units - added railhead counter to support A3R games played with AWAW TR/SR/NR rules - added movement trails to ground units, to aid in tracking unit movement - upgraded all scenario templates to support the new unit indicators and counter type - created an alternative release, A3R_Rev_169_AWAW, that incorporates some A World at War map changes, including the following: + beach hex changes in Libya and North Sea + rerouting of Rhine River, addition of Elbe and Dniester Rivers + Gibraltar becomes a mountain/beach hex + Leningrad becomes a swamp hex and the Leningrad fortress is removed + changes in Nazi-Soviet Pact boundary + Casablanca and Glasgow become ports, Glasgow becomes a shipyard, Rosyth loses shipyard status + Abadan replaces Bushire + added forest terrain to some hexes in Russia, Finland, and Sweden + changed some of the German cities in the Ruhr area. other map changes from AWAW will be forthcoming in future releases Version 1.6.8.2 (3/1/06) Todd Dunnavant - Corrected an error in the single-die Internet die roller -- this had been erroneously created as a regular dice button, rather than an Internet dice button. - Corrected a map error -- changed "Cassablanca" to Casablanca" on the map. Version 1.6.8.1 (2/19/06) Todd Dunnavant - Added British and Russian interceptors to the game -- these are available in Research games - Corrected an error in the 1942 Scenario template -- added 14 German at-start submarine factors Version 1.6.8 (2/18/06) Todd Dunnavant - Added hex diagonal numbers and hex row numbers along the bottom and right sides of the map, respectively. - Corrected an error in the Campaign Game template in the initial force pool for the U.S. -- added a 5th 3-4 infantry unit. - Added pre-built templates for the 1939, 1940, 1941, 1942, 1944, and Barbarossa scenarios. - Added a "Sea Supply" counter to the list of "info" counters. This can be used to trace out paths for unescorted sea supply routes - Added units, such a Jet counters, German/Russian strategic bombers, etc., that are used in A3R research games - Added an "Inverted" unit indicator for naval and air units, and "Damaged" and "Sunk" indicators for naval units. These can be activated on a unit-by-unit basis via context menu picks. - Added images to Russian Industrial Centers that signify German control and the generation of 5, 7, or 10 BRPs for Germany annually. Each IC has a series of "Russian" (red-background) images with values ranging (in sequence) from 1 - 10, then 15 and 20. The "Russian" images are followed in sequence by the "German" (black-background) images. The German images for an IC can be revealed by using the "ctrl-x" or "ctrl-z" keystroke combination to move through the IC's image sequence. - Made significant changes to the structure of the game piece context menus. Consolidated many piece traits into trait prototypes that can be applied widely across similar units (such as a "Naval" trait for naval units). The introduction of prototypes simplifies future module maintenance efforts. - Upgraded all game templates to use the new-style game units Version 1.6.7 (12/27/05) Todd Dunnavant - Added Russian IC "counters" with values of "15" and "20", to the previous set with values from 1 - 10. So, when advancing the ICs from 10 BRPs per IC to 15, use Ctrl-x to advance to the 15-BRP "counter". Do similar to advance from 15 BRPs to 20 BRPs. - Updated the Campaign Game scenario file to be compatible with A3R Module Version 1.6.7. - Incorporated the Campaign Game Scenario template as a pre-defined configuration. This can be accessed via the File | New Game menu item. - Removed the remaining Third Reich scenario cards from the A3R module Version 1.6.6 (11/20/05) Todd Dunnavant - Added beach terrain to Hex K30, northwest of Berlin. This beach inadvertently had been omitted in previous map artwork. Version 1.6.5 (11/06/05) Todd Dunnavant - Added the mouse-over viewer trait to game map and to scenario cards. Use as follows, for example: + Starting from a Point A, move to Point B, then to Point C, etc. + Toggle Ctrl-T to see the path since Point A. + Toggle Ctrl-T to hide the path + Move to Point D. + Toggle Ctrl-T to see the accumulated movement since Point A + Toggle Ctrl-M to flip the "moved" state and remove the memory of the pathing from A to D. + Move to Point E, then Point F. + Toggle Ctrl-T to see the movement since Point D.
